#FRESHOUT9jaUpdate No Space For Boko Haram, Lagos State Government Tighten Security

Lagos State Government has distributed 500 stunner guns, 20 garret metal detectors and 1,000 handcuffs to officials of Neighbourhood Watch, a community security outfit, to strenghten security in the state and also encourage community policing. The commissioner for Rural Development, Cornelius Ojelabi, stated at a press conference at the Secretariat, Ikeja, Lagos.
The commissioner said these security gadgets have since been distributed to the coordinators and 11 patrol vans were purchased and distributed to the officers last year while 28 patrol vans were refurbished in January 2013.
Mr. Ojelabi further stated  that Organisations, companies and philanthropists could adopt projects in rural communities as part of their corporate social responsibility and brand them in their names on completion. With this we can together take Lagos to the next level and make it a model mega city.
