Governors Insecure about Boko Haram Kidnapping Threats

While some governors have set up anti-kidnap squads, some have ensured that official vehicles and that of their families have tracking devices. Osun state government has bought 130 patrol vehicles and a helicopter for security operations while in Bayelsa state, the governor has approved death sentence for kidnappers in the state.
 Asides governors, top government functionaries have relocated their families from the village to the cities for effective monitoring. The Joint Task Force in Borno state earlier has raised the alarm that Boko Haram has recruited a new kidnapping squad whose aim is to kidnap and request for ransome to fund the sect activities.
